Game Review: Football Manager 2009 (PC)

I’m not the biggest PC gamer on the planet. I simply cannot afford to keep my PC up to date with all the latest sound cards/video cards/motherboards etc. That’s why I prefer my consoles. However, the yearly instalment of Football Manager is always a must for me.

Never in the history of my gaming career has one game invoked such strong contrasting emotions. From the sheer joy of coming from a goal behind at Anfield (as Everton) with 10 men to score a 93rd minute winner to conceding a late, late goal to lose the FA Cup final. This has resulted in such blinding fury that once the dust has settled you realise that your keyboard is lying in bits with its buttons scattered across the room.

There is just something addictive about this Stat based football game that keeps you coming back for more. It keeps you on it until the small hours of the night, because lets face it, who can go to bed in the middle of your record winning streak?

9/10
(It would be a 10 if I didn’t have to fork out money to replace my fury smashes)
